The Pro Junior Charcoal Smoker Grill

At Backwoods Smoker, they believe that customer feedback is one of their most valuable assets. Over the years, you’ve told Backwoods Smokers what you wanted—a model that fits perfectly between the Competitor and Professional cookers. They listened, and now proudly present The Pro Junior!

The Pro Junior takes everything you love about the Professional cooker and scales it down to provide enhanced mobility, making it easier to transport without sacrificing performance. Whether you’re competing, catering, or simply cooking in your backyard, the Pro Junior delivers the quality and durability you’ve come to expect from Backwoods Smoker.

The standard Pro Junior comes equipped with stainless steel doors, latches, and a slider valve, allowing for easy opening and closing of the butterfly valve located at the top of the cooker. With cooking temperatures ranging from 180 to 300°F, this smoker provides precise temperature control for all your smoking needs.

With its impressive capacity, the Pro Junior can handle:

•    25 to 30 slabs of baby back ribs
•    18 to 20 briskets
•    35 to 40 Boston butts

Perfect for those who need a powerful, portable smoker, the Pro Junior offers the best of both worlds—big enough to handle large cuts of meat, yet compact enough for easy transport. Whether you're cooking for a competition, catering a large event, or simply feeding a crowd, the Pro Junior is the ideal smoker for the job.

Experience the perfect balance of mobility and capacity with the Backwoods Pro Junior, designed with your feedback in mind and crafted to deliver outstanding results every time.

Smoker Buying Guide

Cooking Style

Finding the best smoker depends on your preferred cooking style, the flavor you want, and the level of control you want over your fire. Offset smokers offer rich wood-smoke flavor and classic stick-burning performance. Pellet smokers deliver set-and-forget convenience with consistent temperatures. Vertical and cabinet smokers maximize capacity for large cooks while maintaining excellent fuel efficiency.

Build Quality

Build quality matters for heat retention and smoke consistency. Look for thick steel, premium seals, and reliable temperature control systems. Whether you're smoking brisket, ribs, poultry, or wild game, the right smoker ensures even heat distribution and consistent results year-round.
