California Proposition 65 Warning

California Proposition 65 Warning

Certain products sold on Fire Goddess may contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

California’s Proposition 65 (officially the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986) requires businesses to provide warnings for products that may expose consumers to listed chemicals above specific threshold levels established by the State of California.

Many metal, gas, and combustion-related products — including grills, smokers, fire pits, burners, and related components — may contain or produce trace amounts of chemicals such as:

• Lead
• Nickel
• Chromium
• Carbon monoxide (from combustion)
• Other substances associated with metal fabrication or fuel combustion

Where applicable, Fire Goddess includes Proposition 65 warning language directly on product pages in accordance with manufacturer guidance.

Why Am I Seeing This Warning?

Proposition 65 standards are specific to California and often require warning labels at exposure levels that are lower than those required by federal or international standards.

The presence of a warning does not necessarily mean a product is unsafe. It means that the product contains, or may expose users to, a chemical on California’s list at a level that requires notification under state law.

A plant sized problem

WE AIM TO CLEAN UP 90% OF FLOATING OCEAN PLASTIC POLLUTION

The Ocean Cleanup is a non-profit organization developing and scaling technologies to rid the oceans of plastic. To achieve this objective, we use a dual strategy: intercepting plastic in rivers to cut the inflow of pollution, and cleaning up what has already accumulated in the ocean and won’t go away by itself. When the oceans are clean, we can put ourselves out of business.
